Where to begin. My last day of employment was Jan. 19, 2018. I have decided to live my passion, baking, and soon, to be the owner of a coffee house bakery! I’ve had this dream since the early 90’s, when I went to CA and visited my first coffee house ever. I fell in love with everything about that place. Of course the aroma was Heavenly. But also the vibe, great music, lighting, furniture, it was all totally me! I wasn’t quite ready to take the jump on Jan. 19, but my employer pushed me, thank God. I’m piecing things together now, one step at a time. I’m not sure if I would have ever been ready. Once I regrouped-I regroup quickly, I decided it was time to finally do something about this dream of mine. So I will not seek another sales job. Ideally, I’d like to work with one restaurant and learn about espresso machines, all of the drinks, what works, what doesn’t, etc. Long term, I would supply that one restaurant with baked goods. But I don’t want to supply all of our area’s restaurants with desserts. Just one, the one that helps me move towards my dream. So if you have a favorite coffee shop or restaurant in Hampton Roads who doesn’t bake their own goods, feel free to let them know I’m searching.
In regards to my own coffee shop, some of my friends know I have a placed picked out close to home, but it’s not zoned commercial, yet. My realtor friend has contacted the current owner, but the owner isn’t ready to sell, yet. LOL I have faith! I’m also flexible, and will consider another location, but it’s gotta be close to my home. And, it’s all about location, location, location!!
Stay tuned as I piece the next chapter of my life together. I just can’t wait to have a coffee house/bakery in the area where all of our neighbors can come refuel, visit, relax, and get to know each other when the time is right. It’s going to be amazing, and memories will be made.
